Why Risk Your Horses Safety and Success?

My horses are everything to me.”  I know how important your horses are. I know how much you practice; how hard you try. I know the frustration that goes along with not getting the response you want. I know that without effective communication, you won’t reach your training goals.”

Here at Dennis Moreland Tack https://www.dmtack.com/ the fit and functionality of each piece of tack is integral in its design and manufacture.  Ultimately, this leads to better communication, improved safety and higher levels of success for you and your horses. I know the feeling of satisfaction that success brings.

“When I began cowboying on ranches after college, a lot of the tack was made from the leftover pieces of leather in the saddle shop, generally by the apprentice. Saddle making was the shop’s priority. I wasn’t interested in building saddles, so I started my business with the emphasis on making high quality tack. I knew I had to use the best raw materials I could buy; the stainless-steel buckles, the rope, and only the best leather. I continue to work closely with the tanneries to get a dense tight fibered piece of leather, whether it’s the harness leather or the latigo. A dense tight piece of leather will outlast a soft spongy piece a hundred to one. I only use the very best and I only use the best part of the hides to make the crucial parts of the headstalls, spur straps, the tugs etc. They’re cut right out of the back, which is the very best part of the hide.”

“The beginning is the design process. I work closely with top horsemen and horsewomen to achieve the fit and functionality in each design. Entirely by hand, each piece begins with the selection of raw materials; cutting, grinding, edging, rubbing and stitching come next. The pieces are then tested extensively in the training pen, on the ranch, on the trail and in the arena. Only then, are they manufactured, each piece by hand, and offered to you.

I know that whenever you’re on the back of a horse you’re 100% dependent on the tack you ride with. For me, your safety and success with your horses is my top priority. This is borne out in the quality of each piece of tack I make. I know your horses are everything to you.”
