Cinch Hobble #ZB
Description: This cinch hobble is 10 inches long when it’s folded, 3/4 inch wide and there are 3 adjustment holes. I make my cinch hobbles from biothane because it’s so durable.
How it works: This is a very important piece of tack and should never break. It will last a very long time even when used continuously in wet and dirty conditions. This biothane cinch hobble is the only piece of tack I make from non-natural materials.
DM Round Buckle Straight Cinch #20CSR
Description: These hand-tied premium-grade cinches are made of 31 strands of Mohair-blend cinch cord. Most cinches or girths have 27 strands of cord or less. The extra strands allow the pressure to be spread further and also feel better to the horse. It’s just a more comfortable cinch. The buckles are made from round stainless steel rod and are 5/16 inch x 2 5/8 inches. These cinches come with a nylon web center strap with 1 inch stainless steel dees and a nylon web keeper for the double off tails on the right side. Round ring cinches come in a variety of sizes to fit every horse (see dropdown).
How it works: This 31 strand cinch will not curl or stretch and will last for years. The carefully crafted buckles are designed to always pull straight to prevent galling. The round rings fit well on any horse but are particularly good on small and young horses. The round shape prevents a small horse from being rubbed behind the elbow by the edge of the buckle. Watch the video and read my blog: How to Measure for Cinch Length to make sure you get a cinch that fits.
Dennis Moreland Cinches have been the top choice of professional horsemen for over forty years.
Short Latigo #L2
Description: I cut my Short Latigo to measure 1 3/4 inches wide and 5 1/2 feet long. My latigos are made from firm, tight-fibered burgundy latigo leather that has been edged, hand-rubbed, and waxed. These are exceptionally high quality, have great feel, and will give you years of service. I guarantee you will be pleased. Dennis
How it works: These will fit everything from a very small colt or horse to one that is big, if you have the correct size cincha. This short latigo is made to go around the cinch and saddle dee one time. If you happen to like an extra thin latigo so you can have the ultimate in close contact with your horse, just give me a call when ordering to have your latigo run through the splitter to thin it (817-312-5305). It will also be re-edged and rewaxed before it’s sent to you.
See my Tack Talk article Latigo with the Flow for more information on latigos.
Slot Concho #ZJ
The one inch Slot Concho is made of stainless steel with slots cut to fit a 3/8 inch string. This is a very safe concho to use on your bridles as it is nearly impossible for it to come undone. Can be used on your chaps also. See guidelines for attaching and removing at left.
Rope Strap #ZM
This rope strap is made of 1/2 inch latigo leather. It fits around the swell of any saddle and has a long slit to go over the saddle horn. It’s stout enough to hold your rope securely and light enough to break if you get a spur through the coils of your rope on a broncy colt; it’ll save you from being dragged.
Read my Tack Talk article “A Thin Line” for safety pointers when using leather straps.
DM Restring Cinch #ZN
Description: If your original cinch or girth ever wears out you can send the buckles back to us to be restrung. Simply cut the cinch cord off the buckles and mail them in a box addressed to: Dennis Moreland Tack, 602 Dennis Rd., Weatherford, TX 76087.
We will polish the buckles and restring them with 31 strands of premium Mohair-blend cinch cord. We’ll also add a new center strap with Dees, a nylon keeper and labels. The new cinch(es) will look and act exactly like the original(s). See the dropdown to specify straight or roper cinch and size.
Enclose a note inside the box with your name, or, place a copy of your order in the box and we’ll match it up and get your new cinch(es) sent right back to you.
