DM Roping Reins #RR21
Description: These DM Roping Reins are made of 1/2 inch burgundy latigo leather that has been edged, hand-rubbed, oiled with Neatsfoot Oil and hand-rubbed again. The snaps are stainless steel with 1/4 inch latigo ties. These are not adjustable and over 7 1/2 feet before snaps are attached. These DM roping reins are guaranteed to be the best you’ve ever felt.
DM Harness Leather Split Reins #ASR6
Description: I recommend these reins if you are riding colts or other small horses. These heavy harness leather reins measure 6 1/2 to 7 feet long and 5/8 inch wide. These also are an ideal length if you’re riding in a snaffle, sidepull, sliding gag, or German martingale. They are long enough to have plenty of rein to work with but they won’t drag the ground or get in your way on those colts and horses that are under 14.2 hands.
Crafting: This tight fibered harness leather will last for years of hard use. They are hand edged, hand rubbed, oiled and hand rubbed again for a great feel before they are shipped to you. If you have any questions please feel free to call and we’ll “talk reins”. Dennis 817-312-5305
Rein Stops #ZA
Description: The Rein Stops are made of harness leather and measure 2 inches in diameter. They will fit any of the leather reins made at Dennis Moreland Tack. Reins Stops are made to go on the bit end of your reins and should be put on at the bit end.
How they work: Use these Reins Stops to prevent the rings on a martingale from getting hung up on the ends of your bit or on the bridle rein ends. This is a very good safety tool for very little investment. Sold by the pair.
Latigo on Latigo 5/8″ Reins, Heavy Weight #BLL2
Description: I’ve worked closely with the same tannery for years to find a thicker hide just for these reins. Two pieces of heavy (total of 24 oz.) latigo are tightly stitched together to make this rein 3/8” thick. They’re cut 5/8” wide and in your choice of two lengths; 7′ long and 7’9” long (see the dropdown to choose). I make the 7’9″ length for average size horses. The 7′ length works for those who are training the smaller cutting & cow horse colts and for ranch sorters who keep their horses really gathered up through continuous quick turns.
These are a very heavy rein that allows for superb contact with a horse’s face. My heavy weight latigo on latigo reins are more pliable than the harness leather on latigo reins #HL58 but they aren’t too heavy or stiff. If properly cared for, they will last many years. Like all of my reins, they are hand edged and rubbed. The attention to detail and craftsmanship of these reins speaks for itself, I guarantee it. Dennis
Flat Nylon Split Reins #DSB3
Description: These split reins have a very soft feel. They are made of brown 1 inch braided nylon. The reins are 8 feet long with 3/4 inch leather poppers at ends. This is a great rein for riding a tall colt in the snaffle, generally one that is 14.2 or taller. Also easy on the hands for all day work.
Slobber Straps #ZL
Description: Slobber Straps will add extra weight to the bit end of your mecate. This weight causes a quicker release of the pressure on the mouth from the bit when the pull on the reins is released.
These are made of 2 inch x 5 1/2 inch (folded) racetrack harness leather, the most durable leather available. They have been edged, hand rubbed, oiled with Neatsfoot Oil and hand rubbed again. These straps are sold in pairs.
