Braided Nylon Bit Hobble #BH50
Description: The BH50 Braided Nylon Bit Hobble is a very functional and good-looking bit hobble at a great price! It’s made of tan hand-braided 1/8 inch nylon cord and is 5 3/4 inches wide.
Spanish Bit with Frog Mouthpiece #B92
Description: This beautiful handmade Spanish bit has 8 1/4 inch loose jaw shanks covered with hand engraved inlaid silver. The frog mouthpiece is 5 inches wide and has a 2 inch high port with a copper cricket. The cricket rolls beautifully and sounds soothing to the horse as well as helping to keep the mouth moist.
How it works: Both the shanks and the port are angled making the action in this bit slower than in a straighter shanked Spanish bit with or without a straighter port. The horse will also be able to hold his head more naturally in this laid over port than in a straight port making this a good bit for the two rein stage of training the bridle horse.
Leather Curb Strap with Rawhide #CU40
Description: The Leather Curb Strap with Rawhide #CU40 is for use only on a Ring, Offset D or Eggbutt snaffle bit. The curb is made of 1/2 inch hand-edged latigo leather that has been hand-rubbed and waxed. It has a beautiful handbraided rawhide ball and handbraided rawhide loop keepers to make it very eye-catching. This is my favorite snaffle curb, it looks so good on a snaffle bit horse.

Steel Cavalry Shank Bit #A6
Description: The Steel Calvary Shank Bit #A6 is made of very high strength 4130 grade steel, the joints are smooth, this bit is made to last a lifetime. The hand engraved nickel silver overlaid on the shanks makes this beautiful both in and out of the show arena. This bit is available with your choice of 6 steel mouthpieces, all 5 1/8 inches wide with inlaid copper strips to promote salivation (see picture at left). This is a favorite in many disciplines including cowhorse and is legal in NRCHA competition when a mouthpiece with a minimum 1 inch port with roller is used. The 3 mouthpieces available with rollers or crickets in the dropdown are NRCHA legal. This bit comes with the #BH41 Latigo Bit Hobble shown here.
How it works: This bit is a great step up when you need a little more shank than the #A1 Argentine Bit, the #A4 C Shank Bit or other shorter shanked bits. The 7 1/4 inch shanks have great preload which allows very fast release when pressure is released on the reins. The loose cheeks are forgiving which can be helpful in a step-up bit. This bit has a fairly low bit-leverage ratio which aids in redistribution of weight to the hindquarters of naturally low headed horses.
Bit is shown with mouthpiece #4F. Also shown is Bozo Rogers riding NRCHA Open Bridle Champion One Smokin Chic in this bit, the #HS52 One Buckle Slot Ear Headstall with Rawhide, the #CU21 Double Buckle Leather Curb and the #CCR1 Rawhide Romal Reins.
Double Buckle Curb Strap with Rawhide Ball #CU42
Description: This eye-catching Double Buckle Curb Strap with Rawhide Ball #CU42 is made of single ply 5/8 inch harness leather that is hand-edged, hand-rubbed, treated with Neatsfoot Oil and hand-rubbed again. Beautiful hand braided rawhide keepers and a ball knot are added to complete the look. The buckles are stainless steel with the leather beneath handsewn together to prevent the buckles from slipping during adjustments.
How it works: The rawhide ball gives a quicker signal than a flat leather curb as it comes in contact with the chin before the leather. The braided rawhide also gives a stronger signal than plain leather because of it’s texture. This curb may be really helpful on a horse that isn’t responding to the pull on the reins as well as he should. The rawhide ball will release very quickly once the tension on the reins is released allowing a reward for the desired response immediately.

Eggbutt Snaffle Bit #18
Description: The Eggbutt Snaffle Bit #18 is made of Stainless Steel. The mouthpiece is 5 1/8 inches wide, slightly bowed and has inlaid copper strips to increase salivation. It is 3/8th inch in diameter at the corners of the mouth and gradually tapers to 1/4 inch in the center.
How it works: When each rein is pulled the eggbutt snaffle bit will give a clearer signal than a ring snaffle because there is a larger area of contact on the corner of the mouth and contact on the opposite side of the face. This helps the colt to bring his whole face through the turn rather than just his nose. This bit is NRCHA & AQHA legal.
This is my favorite snaffle and I use it on almost all my young horses. Dennis
