Spanish Bit with Spade Mouthpiece #B91
Description: This beautiful handmade Spanish Bit with Spade has 8 1/4 inch loose jaw shanks covered with hand engraved inlaid silver. The mouthpiece is 5 inches wide and the spade with cricket is 3 1/2 inches high. The brace is wrapped with copper wire. The spade is covered in copper and with the copper wire on the brace helps to keep the mouth soft and moist.
How it works: Both the shanks and the port are angled making the action in this bit slower than in a straight spade bit. This was designed to be a real good spade to advance your younger horse to from the hackamore.
Also shown on the horse is the #HU1 3/16 Inch Bosalita, #HS51 Cowboy Headstall with Rawhide, the #CU21 Double Buckle Leather Curb, the #CCR1 Rawhide Romel Reins and the #BC7 Full Rawhide Breast Collar.
Double Buckle Leather Curb Strap #CU21
Description: My Double Buckle Leather Curb Strap is a really good all around curb that is both AQHA legal and NRCHA legal on a bridle. This curb is made of single ply 5/8 inch harness leather that is hand-edged, hand-rubbed, treated with Neatsfoot Oil and hand-rubbed again. The buckles are stainless steel. The leather under the buckles is hand stitched together to prevent the buckles from slipping out of position.
How it works: This curb gives a mild and very consistent signal. It’s made of quality leather that doesn’t stretch or get limber with use. The holes are precisely punched to be the same on each side of the curb. This is a real easy curb to adjust and has plenty of adjustment for any bit and any size horse.

Spanish Bit with Frog Mouthpiece #B92
Description: This beautiful handmade Spanish bit has 8 1/4 inch loose jaw shanks covered with hand engraved inlaid silver. The frog mouthpiece is 5 inches wide and has a 2 inch high port with a copper cricket. The cricket rolls beautifully and sounds soothing to the horse as well as helping to keep the mouth moist.
How it works: Both the shanks and the port are angled making the action in this bit slower than in a straighter shanked Spanish bit with or without a straighter port. The horse will also be able to hold his head more naturally in this laid over port than in a straight port making this a good bit for the two rein stage of training the bridle horse.
Double Buckle Curb Strap with Rawhide Ball #CU42
Description: This eye-catching Double Buckle Curb Strap with Rawhide Ball #CU42 is made of single ply 5/8 inch harness leather that is hand-edged, hand-rubbed, treated with Neatsfoot Oil and hand-rubbed again. Beautiful hand braided rawhide keepers and a ball knot are added to complete the look. The buckles are stainless steel. The leather beneath the buckles is hand sewn together to prevent the buckles from slipping during adjustments.
How it works: The rawhide ball gives a quicker signal than a flat leather curb as it comes in contact with the chin before the leather. The braided rawhide also gives a stronger signal than plain leather because of it’s texture. This curb may be really helpful on a horse that isn’t responding to the pull on the reins as well as it should. The rawhide ball will release very quickly once the tension on the reins is released allowing a reward for the desired response immediately.
